[langtitle=nl]Noise in live view mode[/langtitle]

My Kr makes a noise (grinding sound) when in live view mode, It's not too loud but you can hear it within 10cm from the camera.
Is this normal ?

Yup, that's the shake reduction/sensor positioner at work.

I think it still has to hold the sensor in the middle. You can hear it when you do mirror up for cleaning.

You can't turn off shake reduction, you can only disable sensor movement.
One of the things people don't seem to understand is that the sensor is positioned by the same machinery as what operates shake reduction, and as soon as you apply power to the system to keep the sensor in position, the shake reduction mechanism is operating.

Thanks Wheatfield, I'm glad it's not a defect

Yes, no defect at all. I was also surprised with my K-x with which I had the same thing.

Mine makes the same sounds which are then recorded in videos plus it is really disturbing to listen to and it feels like you are torturing the camera! If its normal like you all say then how could they make a camera like that?

That would be one of the reasons why other mfgrs sell heaps more cameras, they're in tune esp in video~audio which has catapulted from mere popular to essential status that buyers consider as important as still functionality these days.

I just have to turn audio right off in my Pentax, and live in the pre talkies 1920s era. Not worth trying, even in crap mono, only to have it spoilt.

.R. -- Who was a head-in-sand denier not long ago too. Now short vid clips has become a natural part of the photo-taking experience. It's logical.
