K-r 40mm 2.8 combo - most compact bag

Hi,
I am new to the forum. Actually, I just bought my first pentax after owning several nikons and canons. It is K-r with 40 2.8, 70 2.4 and tamron 17-50 - yahooooo. It is still in the States and a friend will bring them to me to Bulgaria. So I am now just waiting

So, my question is (may be it was discussed but could not find the thread): what is the best and most compact bag for K-R + 40 2.8 and a spare battery and card. Or may be even without the battery and the card...
Thanks!

Congratulations for the purchase. And welcome to the Forum.

I do not have the K-r, but the K-7.

I use a Lowepro Toploader TLZ1 for my K-7, one lens (either DA18-250m or Tamron SP90mm fit in), the battery charger and the USB cable.

I looked at other LowePro toploader and I am almost definite that the K-r + DA40mm and the battery charger would fit in the Toploader bags TLZ15, TLZ10 & Top Zoom Mini. I am less familaier with other Lowepro bags and would not comment more...

I have the K-r & DA 40 combo, very tight little pair housed in the TLZ1.

figmental1978, I am surprised by your comment of "very tight". I have the TLZ1 and it fits the K-7 (that is larger than the Kr) and the DA18-250mm is much bigger than the DA40mm.

I think that the TLZ1 is almost too big for the K-r with DA40mm, but it would be a good option if the poster intends to buy another, larger lenses in the future.

My K-r plus F 28mm f/2.8 falls quite a distance down into the TLZ1.

Literally swimming in there.

This would be good if you at all think you'll add a larger zoom lens or such. And it does have the advantage of a largish front zip pocket. They are cheap on eBay.

If you really want a truly tight fit, the Lowepro Rezo TLZ 10 will do the job. It looks small. Overall it does not look like you have a nice SLR but rather at best a super zoom.

Perfect fit to the rig just mentioned. There is a pocket, but it is kind of open, so get a piece of padding and place your card and battery under it in the bag. On the other hand, I've carried the battery holders for four AA's around forever without ever losing it, so perhaps it will work. Pretty sure this will be the ticket in any case. Might also look at the Rezo TLZ 20 s it might have a little more room for accessories. I like it because I can wear it like a camera, with both straps around my neck, pull the camera out and shoot. Works well.

Sorry, bad choice of words. I meant tight as in in the K-r and DA40 together are a perfect fit As for the TLZ1, yeah, there's room to move for sure as I also use it with my K10D and Takumar 55mm and it's a snug fit.

I really like the Domke F8

70080S Domke F-8 Small Shoulder Camera Bag for 1 or 2 Cameras Plus Accessories, Sand

it's a little bit pricey, but the quality is superb, it looks great, feels great, and it fits my K-x + 40mm before with the DA 55-300mm perfectly. The perfect one-two combo for the K-x

I've posted this elsewhere, but it's worth repeating:

Cost me less than $15 at KEH.com and is one of my most-used bags.

I have been looking for the same thing and it's hard to find, at least in something that isn't horribly ugly. I have been looking for 6 months and found nothing that I can clip to by belt.
