Wrist strap for K-r?

With my newly purchased K-r in transit, just wanted to know what people recommend as a good wrist strap?

I know there is a genuine Pentax branded one, but I'm curious to know if people use Gordy's or ProStraps instead? I imagine the eyelets on the K-r are the same as the K-x? Will the strap fit through the eyelets or do you need a string/lug mount?

Thanks

I'll vouch for this one:

Optech SLR wrist strap

It can get a little sweaty in warm weather, but it is overall great. Detaches easily. I have one on both my cameras, and a 3rd permanently wrapped around the top of my tripod - when using in that situation, I unbuckle from my wrist and clip to the tripod, instant safety catch.

I got the optech strap too but it seems that a traditional neck strap works better for me most of the time as it leaves both hands free. As reported above the optech feels very secure, the buckle is good to have, the material is some sort of comfy but slightly sweaty synthetic stuff (I wonder how well this holds up?); worth considering if a wrist strap is the thing to have.

I use an optech harness and have the wrist straps for situations when I'm using the camera without a harness or neck strap to give extra security mainly to not drop the camera out a car window etc.

I use this type of handstrap. The trick with it is you can mount the traditional neck strap on the other side. For me it is the best of two worlds: steady camera hold and hands free option.

cheers,

I suggest a piece of rope.

In addition, this post should be moved to Accessories:

A strap is just a strap, regardless of the camera.

Maybe, maybe not. For example, the K-7 brought back the LX type strap lugs which is very different from the K20d & K200d that preceded it.

no way. the LX has very different strap lugs, like that of the 6x7. i wish my K7 had those lugs.

O.k. So its different from the LX and like the regular film SLR such as the K2 etc. The point was that the lugs are DIFFERENT than the K20d and K200d and that straps aren't straps or "ropes" as IRA put it.

Edit: While the strap lugs on the 6x7 are beefy, I'm not to crazy about the idea of having them on a smaller SLR. The 6x7 ideally needs 2 straps although I only use 1.
