Battery contact integrity

This might seem silly, but is there any realistic possibility that, under repeated insertion and removal of the battery, the pins in the battery chamber of the K-r will fail due to mechanical fatigue and not make contact with the battery? Does anyone have an idea of approximately how many cycles the contacts can sustain before they fail, or is this a non-factor over many years of use?

I am asking because I want my equipment to last as long as possible.

I wouldn't worry about the battery contacts itself, because they are very simple and durable construction. Doesn't even matter if you're using the Li-Ion or the AA-adapter, because the tolerances inside the batt. compartment are very small.

But if you by some sort of accident mess up your battery contacts this won't be a very costy repair even out of the warranty period.

cheers,
d

I would think that even with cases where you shoot a LOT of images and thus had to remove and recharge the battery VERY often that the contacts would suffer. This is assuming you don't abuse them by forcing them. I am sure they would last a good long time, even with very repeated insertion and removal.
