First week with the K-r (positive thread)

Well, after many tests under low light, and tungsten light, I can gladly say that my K-r doesn't have the front focus problem.
I used the FA 77mm Limited at f/1.8 and the camera focused exactly where I wanted to.
I love this little camera, I had a K20D before but I don't regret my choice at all.
For info, I bought it from ebay seller Prodigital2000 in Canada, maybe I got lucky or his all batch is problem free.

I agree with you, the af is much faster and doesn't hunt like on my K20D.

Thanks for sharing your positive thoughts. I'm considering pulling the trigger on a KR, but the front-focus issue has me a bit leery - improved AF and low-light performance are the main reasons I want to upgrade (from a K100d), but those benefits will be severely minimized by the front focus issue some have complained about. Glad to hear its not inevitable!

with every camera and lenses u can experience focus issues its not a big deal, send ur lenses and body to warranty, get them calibrated
used k100ds and k10d, now im using k-r. i can say im impressed with af speed and accuracy under low light.af-c is working much more better than old k100ds n k10d aswell. handling of camera is better compared to k-x. and imo u should stop thinking about getting it, just buy it u ll be happy.
but keep in mind, u cant really compare focus speed of k-r with a 7d with L glass :] all my thoughts are inside the pentax brand.
