Thanks for all the replies.

So far things seem to be going ok. I've had my k-r out a bunch of times below -10 for over an hour and no problems at all with battery or camera. Using the ziploc bag seems to be keeping condensation off the cam/lens pretty well when I bring it inside.

gonna take my k-r n da70 to 3800meters high erciyes mountain today. weather gonna be -20 or worse.hope she will perform well xD

Yes, evaporation occurs pretty rapidly, and I have begun to keep cameras in the bag more often. I am just concerned that the condensation would not have any untoward effects on the camera, though I would assume it is better to avoid moisture.
