Can I use PK mount M42 adapter on Pentax K-r

Can anybody suggest me that, can I use PK mount M42 adapter on my Pentax K-r? I've Vivitar 135mm F2.8 M42 Lens 35mm SLR and Vivitar 28mm F2.8 M42 Lens 35mm SLR manual lenses. Can I use these lenses using the above-mentioned Adapter? I purchased these lenses without any prior knowledge of lenses and K-r is my first DSLR. Please go through the below link and suggest me if I can go ahead with the purchase. Thanks a ton for all your help.
Cheers,
Vass.

Short answer is 'yes', but the one you've linked to might not be any good as it may not give focus at infinity. The issue is about how the adapter fits to the camera body; you need one that sits inside the mouth of the camera lens mount, not on it.

You're in Croydon; try Mr Cad who's also in Croydon and does occasionally sell second-hand original Pentax adapters that will give you infinity focus. You'll find them on the internet at www.mrcad.co.uk. They're not the cheapest, but...

Thanks John. You saved me from one more wrong purchase. Thanks for the suggestion.I didn't find any such item in the site you mentioned above. Can you please extend a bit of your time and find me one suitable adapter in eBay or Amazon or anywhere else. Thanks for your help.
Have a wonderful day.
Cheers,
Vass.

You can buy cheap adapters which allow infinity focus off ebay (about $7), remove the locking mechanism (an easy, 10 second operation) and leave them on the lens, which turns your m42 lens into one with a Pentax K mount. That's how I use my 35mm Takumar.

This is how an adapter allowing infinity focus looks like:
M42 Takumar lens o Pentax K20D K10D K200d K100D adapter - eBay (item 330487870339 end time Jan-20-11 17:14:31 PST)

And one with a flange that prevents infinity:
Pentax M42 Lens to Canon EOS 20D 350D 1d 3 30d adapter - eBay (item 300500755670 end time Jan-03-11 08:48:24 PST)

Thanks Stefan. But i've to get them from US and it'll take considerable time and money(I'm in UK).
However i'll find out such item in eBay.uk.Let me test my luck.

If you play it absolutely safe, you can buy the original Pentax one in the shop.

Ask your dealer for this item; it might have gotten a bit more expensive in the UK, don't know. I only know that I paid a small 'fortune' about a year ago in South Africa

In case you buy one or more of those Chinese adapters, don't forget to remove the locking mechanism. You'll know how, it's obvious. You just need a fine screwdriver.
What I like about the ebay adapters is that they are cheap enough to leave one on each of my m42 lenses.
