Good to hear dqniel.

So you aren't having issues under tungsten/artificial light?

Nope. I've been using AWB under "warm" flouro lights and autofocus seems to be relatively quick and accurate. I'll do a proper focus test when I get the chance.

Well, I took the plunge and just updated my Red. I haven't really noticed anything different yet though.

Has anyone found a Change Log?

Thanks!

nothing on UK pentax download section either must be very new.
this is a interesting site though loads of images product images which you can download if have a need for them and under archives all the older models and their update files etc.
all the images seen in adverts review articles etc.etc.

I took the plunge and updated the firmware even though I don't know what benefits it's supposed to bring. My focus in AWB is spot on, but I'm pretty sure it was before on my unit as well.

Previously I had a severe battery indicator inaccuracy issue. So far that seems to be rectified but I think it's too soon to tell. Hopefully I'll be able to get a better feel for whether it's placebo effect with more use tomorrow.
+ Rep for cajones...

can one of our european pentax forum friends contact pentax europe and ask as to exactly what this firmware update does? once the exact details become known, we can all petition our respective pentax headquarters and ask when they'll make it available...(with tech support if necessary)... thanks! dave m

I've decided that using the focus chart with the kit lens is very difficult. The max aperture isn't wide enough. As far as I can tell the focus is either spot on or maybe 2mm of front focus. I wish I had a 1.4 to do more conclusive testing. Doing 55mm at f/5.6mm, and soft results at that, isn't good enough. F/2.0 or so using a 50mm prime would be optimal.

Also, with the kit lens at 55mm, I hardly notice a difference between disabling micro adjustment of focus and setting it all the way to -10. I suspect this adjustment won't make much of a difference unless I'm using an ultra wide aperture or a much longer focal length.

I guess that I should consider that a blessing though... cause if I'm viewing a photo taken with AWB in artificial light and I can't tell whether its focus is shifted at all then I supposed focus is doing a splendid job?

I've just updated to 1.01 (too curious). I had a little play to see if there's any improvements on AF and front focusing but couldn't see much of a change. It could be that my DA 40 is a little soft wide open. I'll test it with the DA* 50-135.

If that was a firmware issue wouldn't it be present on all K-r's then? I feel like it's a QC issue if it's only affecting certain K-r's? Either way, I hope it gets resolved for people.
