Is the tokina sz-x 28-200mm 3.5-5.3 compatible with K-r?

Is the tokina sz-x 28-200mm 3.5-5.3 compatible with K-r?

Since I cannot get it to connect correctly yet from the same vintax the stock pentax -M 50mm is usable straight off...

TIA

Toby

As long as it's the k-mount model, then yes, it's compatible.

Here's what yours should look like: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/sold-items/74724-sale-%5Bsold%5D-tokina-sz-x-28-200mm-f-3-5-5-3-zoom-p-k-mt-$30-shipped-paypalled.html

Ok so the box says it is a KA mount and my other lens is a K mount, according to the K-r manual I should be able to use both but I can only attach the K mount....

The picture looks just like the lens I have.

Still puzzled....

KA and K should both work- all the A means is that automatic aperture control is available.

Are you sure there are no protruding flanges that are preventing mounting?

Thanks yes... I have a lens with the infamous ricoh pin and it has a larger flange.

Oh well I guess I did manage to keep one lens going...
