Well i will probably do that. I shoot a lot indoors in bad lighting. I have to let them try and fix it a couple of times before they give me my money back though. I really hope they are able to fix it though since i dont see a clear alternative purchase out there. Perhaps the D3100 would do but im not sure.

FF in low light in general

I've played around with my camera and the workaround is to use LV until the firmware fix comes out. This issue is not tungsten related by lower light in general.

I've tested all my primes at f2.0 and I get FF in low light (or natural lighting) in doors.

Now that I now the problem exists; I adjust my shooting to accommodate the issue. Not the best thing, but really no other options.

Anyone read and tried this? Basically it says to do a factory reset after a f/w update for the K-5. Might work for the K-r.

My initial quick tests looks good. Phase detect AWB shot looks like phase detect set in tungsten white balance, which in my previous (see page 5 in this thread) tests were better than AWB.

Phase detect in tungsten wb looks like LV, which showed no (or not perceptible) ff.

Again I just did a quick and dirty test. The thing is, I shot handheld at 1/60 in ISO3200. Blur would have been worsen the results, but my shots seems to be better than my tripod test shots on page 5 of this thread.

Placebo effect? Anyone care to prove it's not just that?

Some people say that after reset, they got blurry pictures. See HERE.

If I understand correctly, it's the actual f/w upgrade that caused the problem, not the reset. But since the posted did not specifically say it, I might be wrong.

I agree with the notion that reset just resets the user configurable settings to factory defaults.

Maybe other K-r users would brave a try, at worse you reconfig your setup, at best you may get better tungsten AF
