Bought a Kr today

Just bought a Kr today, sold all my sony gear over at ebay. I don't see much of future in the Sony camp. I loved my A700 but got tired of waitng for an updated 700 from them. If I like the Kr I'll most likely get a K5 later this year.

Great acquisition. That should provide lots of fun, the K-r is a useful beast and very under-rated overall on featureset and capabilities, IMhO.

Now you'll get to to sit back and admire greenness of grass from this side of the fence when a700's yet to be named successor finally does hit the streets.

I was eager for it too, early spin does sound encouraging[*]; but do suspect Sony are probably hesitant of a premature birth, preferring to bide more time to blend some killer sensor and tweak their SLT tech a bit more -- in-the-wild feedback now flowing from the a33/a55 would be invaluable toward that.

//
* A Sony spokesman wouldn’t give away too many details apart from confirming that it would share the same translucent mirror technology as the recent A33 and A55, and that the specification would be “phenomenal”. Since it will presumably have to surpass the 16.2 megapixel A55, that would seem to be a fairly safe bet.

Congrats! It seems like Sony is trying to leverage their expertise in electronics, which is certainly interesting, but quite the opposite route from what Pentax is doing. Personally, I like the Pentax approach better, although some convergence of features is unavoidable.
