50-200mm with k-r or 55-300mm with k-x

Hi to all,
i 've found at the same price the k-r +18-55+50-200 and the k-x +18-55+55-300. This is the question: is the 55-300 so much better than the 50-200 to make me choose the k-x? And, is the k-r worth extra money compared to k-x?
Sorry for my english
Frankie

Hi Frankie... go with the 55-300mm kit.... it is superior to the 55-200 (check out lens reviews here in the forum, and also tips as how to use it).....also gives you that extra 100mm reach..... i had the 55-300mm for quite awhile, and found it to be a most capable and versatile zoom....
lotta bang for the proverbial buck with the 55-300.....
best of luck.... dave m

I don't see a major improvement by going from K-x to K-r. I have a K-x and no desire to jump to a K-r if it costs me any money. But the 55-300 is a big improvement over the 50-200 in pretty much every area. The 55-300 is one of the great bargains in the pentax arsenal.

First I would suggest the K_r is the financially the best deal.
the K-r is a more expensive model and has more features, please click on the next line and read the review on the two cameras.
Pentax K-r Review - PentaxForums.com

You ask is it worth the extra money but you say at the same price ? that does not make sense?

if the 50-200 is the WR model it comes with hood and metal mount
the 55-300 will be the DAL version with NO hood and plastic mount.

despite the test reports it is highly unlikely you will see a difference in the images quality taken with either lens and the same focal length.

if you zoom to 100 % [1:1] you might but who looks at images or prints them like that?

overall to answer your question and if, as you have stated, both packages are offered at the same price the K-r deal is the best offer.

note I have had A Kx and traded it in for a K-r , the best move I have made, and I have all the lenses you talk about and have used them and printed from them all
so I am not talking from test reports ,but my experience.
I hope that helps you
Images taken with both cameras are on TMA10 - a set on Flickr sorry not correct some were with X-70
These are with K-r and K10 and both lenses from memory
