Thank you all for your input, Pentax has gotten back to me and wanted me to send camera and all lens I had as they agree something is wrong. For those of you who buy from B&H Photo, I called B&H and they agreed to take camera and lens back and will be sending me complete new kit. Figured this would be better as Pentax said they would most likely keep camera for three weeks before sending it back. Let you know how the new one works when I get it.

Recieved another KR kept it a week, tried to do what everyone talked about, still not great results, finally brought it back to B & H who again did fine job. Went to Nikon counter and got a Nikon, could not be happier with the results. I was a Pentax user for over 20 years but am very disappointed could not continue.

This will eventually get sorted out. Too bad you had to bail.

Worst case scenario would be a hardware problem that Pentax never admits to and resolves via replacement models.

I too settled on Nikon 3100, really liked D7000 but it is heavy and large, while 3100 is easy to use, carry, and the images are really amazing.

Too bad you bailed out. There are always people who have no problems and those who do. Have fun with your purchase. In the end, it's what makes you happy.
