K1000 lens to kr

I have an old pentax k1000 film camera
I still have some lens from that camera
I wanted to use te original lens that came with it.
I have read that some lens have a pin that get stuck
on the Kr

If it's the original Pentax lens it fits just fine. Some older third party K-mount lenses that were also meant for Ricoh cameras can have the "ricoh pin" that can get stuck in the mount of a Pentax dslr (or af film slr).

If you haven't used manual lenses on a dslr before I suggest you take a look here:

But beware. Manual focus lenses can be very addictive

If they are pentax lenses you should be fine. But yes watch out for non-pentax brands and the damn Ricoh pin I got a cheap crappy lens stuck on my K-r because I didnt know about it. The old pentax lenses are great on the k-r tho

Any Pentax lens should work flawlessly with your K-r. See here for a list of Pentax lenses: Pentax Reviews - Pentax Lens Reviews & Pentax Lens Database

If it's a third-party Ricoh lens, then you have to check for the pin.

I might add:

When we brought out all of our lenses from the closet and bought a DSLR, there was one lens in particular that stood out.

It was a sigma, but I couldn't find any data on it on the web. It was odd because there were two aperture rings (or so I thought).

I finally took a screwdriver and dismantled the second "aperture" ring.

turned out, the prior owner had some kind of attachment that went over a ricoh lens that had the pin, and the attachment converted the lens to a K mount. Well, maybe it wasn't a ricoh, it was a screw-mount lens for sure and it used a pin to control the aperture.

anyways, my point is, if that's the kind of lens you have then there may be attachments out there to salvage it for your K-r.

All of my old K1000 lenses fit and work just fine. I haven't had any problems with them getting stuck. I love using my Vivitar 135mm again.
