New K-r only had ONE actuation??

Got my K-r this afternoon, and checked the EXIF shutter count on my first pic and it shows as 2! Does this really mean there was only ONE factory shutter test? Surely not...

Maybe they've gotten smart and started resetting the counter after testing!

Heh either that or they don't test the cameras any more, hence the QC problelms?! =)

That is standard, no real surprise, as expected and as it should be. Anything more would make it a used camera.

Fwiw; although mine showed the same #2 in P.Me at 0x005D (which some might misconstrue that it had been 'tested' [Haha to them!]), upon essential inspection of the sensor I found that was filthy, so I'd strongly recommend that you do same and check yours properly too asap, before any serious playing with the new toy, and give it the required clean if necessary. Easy job, and definitely well worth the effort (I use the Pentax O-ICK1).
Also do the usual eDial reliability test bit (mine was/is good), etc. And you already know that Fr.F issues is a "feature", so we just accept, workaround, and exchange funny jokes about that to give the resident fanboys and apologists the shits.

And after that obligatory ritual, then you get to have all the fun like the rest of us. Oh, and a hearty welcome to the K-r Klub from me, you won't look back.

.R.

No, I'm not looking back. There are things I miss from the K10D, but the new things are just STRIKING.
