I like this camera, sample...

Nothing much, just an early sample from the K-r (18-55II) while I'm learning how to use it's features and trying to get the maximum contrast/acuity,

Brian

torpesco,
Can't say what the intended focus point was; this is photomerged with three different focus points, so it could be anywhere, or nowhere I suppose. Truth be told, if I get something I like I don't really care where the focus point is, or where I intended it to be. Sometimes I get the picture I saw, sometimes I get the image the camera saw, and sometimes neither. It's all good,
Brian

Nicely done, Brian. I'm also trying to learn, feels like theres more to learn than on the K200 but maybe that's just because I'm used to that one. I'm going to have to take a leaf from your book and set up some test shots as well..

kyteflyer, well I never used the K200 but I started with the K100 and you are spot on that the learning curve for the K-r is a bit of a slog. At this point, I don't even know what I don't know about using it, but it's worth it. As I said in another post, this is quite simply the best out-of-the-box camera I've ever owned,

gp1806, thanks. But the folks at dpreview didn't see it your way and disqualified this as an entry in the "Foods that Start with C" Challenge. Seems spices aren't food to the mod over there. Anybody who thinks that spices aren't food never tried to have a decent meal in Utah,
Brian

I don't understand them. Must the food be prepared and ready to eat? I've never entered a DPR challenge. I don't know the rules. The mods over there can be a little over the top though, with URL bans and all. I think that photo is legit for that challenge (and a good shot, too). Just as legit as a bunch of carrots fresh from the garden.

Heh... I was just kidding -- I like the composition.
