Okay. Info:

Picture straight from the camera. I took this ages ago, and I'm guessing I used a flash sync with the camera flash, and a wonga exposure time. Hence all the colours. It's annoying that I didn't get all the head in, but hey

Not bad for a 14 year old?

Amazing

Got to agree. Don't think I have ever seen such a shot before. A bee caught in flight like that is amazing.

Newbie playing with a new old MF lens

Would like some feedback.
I'm a total newbie, bought a MF lens to play around with.
Shot with a Vivitar 28-200 MC
Shot at f6.3, 1/200 sec, no pp

Your composition is pleasing, and exposure is good. You need to work on focus.

Two options: pick a part of the scene - for example the center of the closest flower and make sure it is razor sharp. Or reprogram your green button to allow you to stop down your lens so you can determine your entire depth of field. The biggest problem with stopping down the lens is you will be trying to determine this depth of field through a darker viewfinder.

Hang in there and practice - - - I've rejected a lot of my own photos for exactly the same problem.

Some folks have swapped out the viewscreen to enable easier manual focus. I've given it a lot of thought myself. But as you indicate you are new to all this, I'd say wait until you are more comfortable with what you have in the stock camera.

Saved the RAW of this one. It looks 'bluer' and there is no exif in RAW files?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still practicing in my garden. Trying to master the focus better. I've started using catch in focus and today brought the tri-pod out. I'm attaching a couple more shots, I feel like the focus is better but still not as good as I would like, so any more advice would be appreciated. Again these shots are straight out of the camera.
