This one is of my dogs Zeus (Rottweilor) and Zena (Staffordshire Terrier). I love photographing them because it's nice to capture their craziness!
The one prior is of midnight fireworks.
Both have only had cropping applied.

Not sure if it's the best I have done with my K-r, but we can say it is probably the best of 2014 so far

Thank you very much Genobreaker,

It's been the combination of luck, and a good spot what provided this picture

Red five, That really is a very fine shot. Very dramatic and a nice composition. I don't know how you took it without getting run over. You must be fast on your feet. Freddy

Thank you very much Freddy,
Hahaha no no I am not fast in my feed, it's taken from one side of the road, at the inside let's say, and so this is why you get this composition.
With a rally car, I hope I never test how fast am I in my feed

Freddy

Check that out, to give you a better idea, I was at the inside, at the right side of the picture, where you can see some part of a tree

It is from there that I was shooting at the cars

Trying out the new Tamron 70-300 yesterday.

hope this is not the kiss of death for this feller, pheasants usually end up squashed on the road shortly after I photograph them

Excellent bokeh and great color. Looks like you have a very nice lens, there. Freddy

Hello from New Zealand,

Continuing the bird theme, here's one of my hens! And a Lemon! Got a Kr recently and also ditched the kit lens in favour of some old manual primes. This was taken with a Takumar 50mm 1.4

Hello from New Zealand,

Nice shots, Gadge. Those Takumars are really special lenses. I have gotten amazing shots from my 55mm 1.8 Tak. I just don't like to bother with the adapters, so I just keep the lens on my K200D. My K30 carries my DA55-300 or plastic 35mm 2.4 and soon the DA50mm 1.8 plastic.
When I get the 50mm 1.8 end of March that will complete mylens buying, probably for the rest of my liife. I may have to choose between selling my Sigma 50mm 2.8 eX macro if I'm not happy the the plastic 50. Freddy

Cheers Freddy. I'm very much learning all of this from scratch, but I do love those old manuals! Yer right about the adaptors though, but I only have the Kr, so on and off they go..Next stop maybe a modern zoom. Thinking about this one Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro HSM (Contemporary) Lens Reviews - Sigma Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
Who knows..it's a bit pricey

I also splashed out for this lens. Only used it to take some photos of my house for selling purposes so far but I like the look of the results, and it is almost silent which is a great improvement over the kit lens.

Gadge, I read the reviews just know on that Sigma17-70. Great performance figures and it sure was impressive in low light, judging from the pictures shown. Probablly a great investment.
I'm just sticking with my DA55-300. It is a great lens for me, with remarkable bokeh as a bonus. As much as I loved my old DA50-200 I'm just more impressed with this beauty of a lens. Freddy

Yeah, it looks pretty damn good. I like the low light feature as I don't tend to use flash at all. Meanwhile I have acquired another Tak. A 55mm 1.8 strangely enough..
The price of new lens in New Zealand is really quite expensive, so the Sigma will have to wait a while. I'll try and put a Tak 1.8 snap up here when it arrives...Good ol Trademe (NZ equivalent of ebay) Got that Tak for about $40 U.S. you canny go wrong with that, laddie..!!!
