Nice pictures folks. Smithy, You like the Sigma contemporary?? The results seem pretty good.
CCD...was that the kit lens 18-55 you used for the above shot? If so, that's a very impressive result. Anyway, I will ponder the possibilties of upcoming birthday and decide on the Sigma. I did also consider the Sigma 18-250 for a wee bit of extra reach, but the Contemporary may well win this one. Ah, dilemmas dilemmas.

All the best to you good folks

Glad you both enjoy the photo. Steve, thanks.....and, yes......the 18-55 kit lens. I have since moved on to the 16-45 with my K-r for most wide angle shots, but still use the 18-55 with good results on my K-x.

Nice stuff, Smithy. The gardens are looking good in Crewe!! My only experience of Crewe was changing trains when going home to Glasgow! Anyway, I'm still hoping the lens will be a reality at some point in the future. I need to stop buying all these old Taks and concentrate on the Contemporary.

Cheers from Down Under

I like #1 with the Tamron A F 70-300. Reminds me of shots I get with my Sigma 50mm 2.8 EX macro, which I can't wait to use on my new K30 camera, this spring. I think I'll do better with my Sigma with tthe k30's higher resolution and ISO. Freddy

I'm also very pleased with the Tamron 70-300. AF can be ridiculously slow but the results are great.

Not sure if it's the best I have done with my K-r, but we can say it is probably the best of 2014 so far
That speed, aperture and iso you used?

Problem is in light strenght, try focusing on sun, is very fast, but problem is in electronic, sometimes loses, and there is problem when hi again must find great position for focusing.

This is not totally problem, i have another problem, my ring for zoom falter on fine zoom on closed object.
