really happy with my k-r

Got my k-r over the weekend and have been really happy with it. Coming from a k10d the focusing, operation time, metering is WAY improved. Its a much lighter camera as well. Havent had a chance to test AF under tungsten light as such but i don't normally use the camera under such circumstances so i dont care.

Good job pentax

+1 (Just updating the satisfied customer list.)

Like most converts you'll probably find the love affair only gets better as time goes on. The thing is just so much fun to use.

Thank you for your upbeat k-r post! I have been thinking of upgrading? downgrading? cross-grading? to the k-r from my K20D, but all the negative posts about low-light FF are bringing me down. I am always happy to see the occasional positive posting about this camera and I am still considering making a move. I hope you enjoy the new camera, and please keep the positive feedback coming!

I want a K5, but too many unexpected expenses lately have got me thinking of acquiring a K-r body, just for something different to play with.

Count me as a satisfied customer of the K-r 2 lens (55-300) kit. I haven't noticed any front focusing with the kit lenses (which are great), but I haven't shot any focus charts either.

Think to me at this point the K-r is a better alternative to the K-5 as I am not an experienced shooter yet and really like to upgrade things as I get more into my hobbies. I am sure in a few years the K-whatever will be out and now that Pentax seems to be very serious about putting out class leading SLR's they are only going to get better.

I love my K-r, its amazing.

Regarding the tungsten FF issue, I just learned how to focus manually, which I now do almost exclusively anways. Its a great piece of gear

Pentax has been coming out with some great stuff all since the K-7 and K-r. Just bought a K-r and can't wait for it to come in! Not a huge upgrade from my K-x, but faster AF, AF points and an actual usable Live View should make for some fun.

That is very sad news. Cameras are replaceable; life, never replaceable.
