I am new to photography.

I bought my first DSLR the Pentax k-x.

I read most of the reviews that compare kx to kr.


My questions are:

Is the difference for me between kx and kr is significant?

I can upgrade to kr for 150$, is this price worth upgrading?? (kx-600$) (kr-750$).


What do you advise and think.

We can't know if it's significant for your use until we know a little more about you. Like what do you intend on using the camera for? Do you need 11 point AF, or do you do fine with single? Do you use Live View a lot? Do you take a lot of night shots?

I just started, don't know what i am going to shoot.
at the moment I am going to everything.

I also don't know what i need.

But is it worth to upgrade for 150$, from kx to kr?

Stick with the k-x, and save the rest to buy better lenses in the future

In that case, just stick with the K-x for now. See how much you like DSLRs. Put that $150 towards some legacy glass. Specifically some fast normal primes. That will do a lot more for the quality of your photos and your knowledge of photography than upgrading to a K-r will.

For me the focus assist lamp, focus point in view finder are important. May be I am too much of point and shoot but it is a good convenience. I spent additional $ for that, otherwise K-x is fine.
