I have a K-5 and a K-x. My K-5 is currently at CRIS waiting for replacement to come in so I've been stuck with my K-x. Going back to shooting the K-x made me realize how much I miss the visual focus point 'blip' in the viewfinder...and there's a noticeable difference in speed as well.

So this got me thinking and I started looking at the K-r. I also remembered I have a 10% off coupon at eBay...so I started looking and I found this:

10% off takes me down to $665.99...I figure I was going to buy this lens in the near future anyway...so if I look at this as me buying the lens, and the camera...that puts me at roughly $450 for the camera (valuing the lens at $220). I figure I can dump my K-x for $325-ish...so that puts me at a net total of about $125 for an upgrade.

So yes, I'm just trying to justify this for myself . The 10% coupon I have expires very soon...and I think the coupon on top of this bundle makes it a pretty darn good deal.

What's that $125 worth to you? The viewfinder blip and an extra stop of useable ISO? If so, then you have your answer.

I did it and am glad I did. Faster focus, larger higher res screen, focus point 'blip' as you say, much faster live view focus, faster fps and a few other things. There were enough upgrades for me. If I had a K-5 I would probably hardly ever use the K-r though.

Now, if the scamBay coupon 10% disc applies to shippng too (doubtful, read the fine print to be sure!) then the total would be reduced to USD742.49

Either way, it's not a particularly outstanding deal at all, in today's market scene. (Except maybe for the G.A.S Blinded™ who failed primary school arithmetic. )

You sure are a lucky bunch having those poor courier driver slaves work for no pay.
That does make it price attractive, ~USD30 below the B@H and Adorama current, esp. if the dealer provides the same money-back and after sales support too.
