I'm wondering if newer K-r's are experiencing this problem. For those of you who purchased within the last month, please chime in.

If the problem is hardware related, it's possible Pentax may fix the issue without notice.
I got my K-r today! Woohoo, finally

Will be testing this tomorrow or the next day, and will report back.

Maybe this solves the FF problem. But you may have to attach the GPS thingy for it to work

Now that's unique. Focusing by GPS

FWIW I have downloaded and installed the new F/W.

My quick tests shows that live view AF is still accurate, but the difference between AWB and Tungsten WB seems to be very small that I almost cannot tell the difference.

In my previous tests, the difference between the two was really noticeable.

I'm too tired and lazy to do a more controlled test , so maybe someone would be kind enough to do it

Typical corporation.....add a firmware so that they can sell something but don't fix the effed up product that 10s of thousands have already purchased.

I woulda dropped my cash down on a k-r tonight if this fixed the FF.....now I may jump

I am very very bummed

Less bummed than those of us who already own one... if you are sold on Pentax, get a K-7 it is what I would do in hindsight.
