question regarding cheap battery of ebay

NEW D-Li109 DLi109 Li-Ion Battery for Pentax K-r DSLR | eBay

do anyone of you have bought such a battery? would it be safe to buy and use with my Kr?

anyone with experience could comment on that?

I live in Lithuania, so the shipping should be worldwide, maybe you have anything else to offer?

thanks in advance.

My experciences with clone batteries are not that good. Half the charge of the original if you're lucky or maybe I was just unlucky.

I found a cheap knockoff battery on eBay, and I have been quite happy with it as a backup. A full charge does not seem to last quite as long as the Pentax battery, but -- for me -- it is still quite acceptable considering what I paid for it.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

This is a common question on here, do a search. But I have had several clone batteries for my two cameras, and my two(slightly different I know) professional Bosch drills which gets hammered day in and day out (just on 3 years now). I have never noticed even the slightest difference between any of them - drill or camera. My camera has just clicked over 11k shots and each battery lasts as long as each other.

If you do a general search on D-Li109 | DLi109 you'll find there are several cheaper than the one you cite.
I suggest you pick the cheapest dealer that you are comfortable with (one who ships International), and order at least 2 spare batteries.

Regarding my own experience with them: I bought 2 spares off eBay that arrived early January 2011.
One has been very good since, giving almost the same lasting power as the original K-r battery per charge; and the other has been unreliable from the start, it won't hold a full charge for very long at all, and registers absolute zero volts on the multimeter when it dies (indicating simple faulty manufacture).

Still for the low price asked now I accept that some of the non-genuine ones will be failures, and I now intend to order another 2 spares soon, probably from a different dealer (and hopefully both will be OK this time).
The Li-Ion block battery is a far better option for me than downgrading to AAs in the K-r. I had enough of them with my K-x.

I bought one for less than half that price on eBay from a US-based dealer - looks the same - and it provides the same number of shots as the Li+ battery pack that came with the camera.

I agree with the above posters, they are cheap and great as a backup.

Also in agreement with the above. I haven't noticed any difference in battery life between the eBay clone and the OEM Pentax.

Same here

I have had good experiences with non brand battery. I have two of them so along with the one that came with my K-R I have three and make sure that all are always ready to go.

I have had a good luck with non-OEM battery from eBay.
See below thread and my post.
You can get one for around $10.00

Got the K-r in December and bought 2 back up batteries on eBay. After 5000+ images, I cannot see any performance difference between any of the batteries. Charging time and images per charge are virtually the same.

Nice. I was thinking about the AA adaptor but I can buy 4 of these batteries for the price of that and still be ahead.

Plus our dollar is $1.05 US at the moment too

With the non-OEM AA adapter selling for 17.00 on ebay I would go with the AA adapter, that would provide backup using rechargeable or store bought AA's
