Arrived yesterday, mounted today. Was a pain in the butt to install, the shim came off and I didn't know how to put it back on, finally managed to. I also got some dirt on there, but totally my fault. I suspect I might have a very slight front focusing screen, will have to test it thoroughly befoure actually messing with shims again.
The service from focusingscreen.com was excellent though. All else being equal, I'd buy any time from them rather than katzeye, because of the way they treat their customers. I didn't have to pay any additional tax at my customs department.
Regarding my fear with the kit lens, the prism surely is darker, but still visible and doesn't actually black out in daylight. Definitely worth the upgrade.

I order the Ec-B from focusingscreen for my K-r last weekend, and received it today. Installed it just now and, my goodness! It's like getting a new pair of spectacles. The change from out to in focus is so clear. Really love it. Now I can finally take clear shots with my Pentax-A f1.2

Glad to hear that. Did you have any problem with the shim falling off? I still need to download the pictures and check them for front/back focus and adjust if needed (not 100% sure though). So if front focus, thinner shim, else thicker?

Well, it was easy. just place it back in. It's a bit tricky, but nothing really hard. Follow the instructions on focusingscreen.com
