K-7 trade vs. K-r

I have an offer to trade my K-r against a K-7.

I'm tempted because of the weather sealing, brighter and better view finder and the more pro-like body itself.

I like the K-r's high-ISO performance because I rarely use a flash.

K7 is one great camera...forget about the people who criticize it for ISO issues. Grab one while you still can. It cant be beat in normal lighting and also for the feature set for the money.

If you don't shoot in low light or high-ISO the K-7 is a phenomenal camera. The second e-dial was the reason I opted for the K-7 instead of the K-x. I do a lot of low light shooting and sometimes I wish I had better ISO performance, but I've been pushing the envelope lately with the K-7 and am getting printable images at ISO 3200.

I'd look at photos so far to see what ISOs you've used. I go above ISO 800 for like 0.5% of my photos, but that's because neither the DS nor the K-7 was very good there. It should be easier for you to gauge how you use it when it's an option. I do find that I can take shots and be happy at 800 and lower. If I needed higher ISO more than 5% of the time, I would not swap.

Otherwise, an even swap is a great idea. The K-7 will even hold more resale value in the future.

I'll just cue in to what you said about using high ISO instead of a flash. Keep the K-r unless you need weather sealing.
