Thank you and you are most welcome. Hope to see some of your photos soon.

As a first time DSLR owner, first learn to trust your new KR on Auto and then start to experiment with some of the settings after that to see what they do.
You will be amazed at what this camera can do when you believe in it !.

Unless you are familiar with Photoshop or similiar and processing RAW files I would suggest setting your camera to take Jpeg images at least initially anyway.
RAW retains more fine detail but is slightly duller until processed whereas the Jpegs are already bright and more like what you see in a print.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Regards
Tony

Nice thread! I am enjoying my K-r immensely. It's my first DSLR and I've really had fun learning it - and will continue to do so. It's good to see a positive thread.

And those are some great photos!

Love the camera for its speed and have found the auto white balance to be excellent. Focusing is fast and accurate, even with moving subjects. Was successful in getting shots of the kids on swings for the first time with estimated 90% hit rate on focus in AF-C.

Felix, besides AF-C.....what other settings (spot, 5 point, 11 point, AF AE Lock) for auto focus? I've been having trouble with AF-C getting that good a hit rate with soccer games. I might be getting 50%. Also, what shutter speeds.....and are you shooting in full manual? Thanks.

Oh, and do you have any of the swing shots to post?
