K-r for sale at Costco !

Surprise, Surprise ! I didn't think I would see a Pentax at Costco but today, their web site has the K-r two lens kit (18-55 & 50-200) listed at $ 699. Price includes a bag and SD card.

Nice job Pentax !

I've got a huge concern with Costco participation. A lot of non-comformists moved to Pentax where they could be assured that Hoya would not go mainstream. Once Pentax gets larger than Nikon, where do we move to next

Sounds like a very good deal, Hope they have one for display so that people can judge themselves how good it is from entry level nikon

Yes, it'll be nice if they also carry it in stores. Given Costco's generous return policies, a lot more people may feel comfortable trying out a brand that isn't a household name.

In anticipation of their new minority status, I understand that Nikon warranty centers have started exercise programs for former Pentax owners.

I kid you not, at our Photo club's monthly coffee meeting, Nikon owners were showing us Pentax owners the best kind of PADDED camera straps to buy. A D300 audobon bird shooter looked at my unpadded Y-strap, then at my K5 with a DA-35 lens and laughed at me: "there's your problem, you're not carrying enough weight"

So much to learn before i can become a minority again

I have often thought that having Pentax available at Costco would be the answer to their brick & mortar local distribution and availability problem. I was over at our local Costco yesterday, but alas - nothing, but Nikon and Canon....

Tempting. I may get it there so I can swap them out until I find one that focuses correctly.

The K20D, K200D, and the K2000 have all been at Costco.com, but I don't recall that any had ever been in the store.

[edit] Actually, I just noticed you can see threads talking about this same thing in the "similar threads" section below.
