One Quickshift function that is usually overlooked is easy manual prefocusing for AF lenses in very low light. AF will lock accurately in surprisingly low light levels with slower lenses if the lens is close enough to being in focus when you activate AF. QS makes this quick and easy since you don't have to fiddle with the AF/MF switch on the camera.

Damn, I want one of these lenses. I do this with the MF switch sometimes, and it's very useful, but unless I take the camera away from my eye, I'm always fumbling with it.

There's a simple trick. Just press the lens release button and rotate the focus ring.

I also just set the shutter button so it doesn't auto-focus, and use the AF button. I've found that on a tripod and shooting multi-image brackets I can AF using the remote, and do small focus adjustments manually without holding the AF button. It usually just takes a tiny adjustment to get focus where I want it.

Now that is cool, I tried it and liked it. I do have one lens that has the quick shift but haven't needed it much
