I suggest 2 cards dedicated to the camera.
I'll come in after taking a few shots (or several) and go over to the computer and SWAP.
The camera always has a card that way. When I get the time I process the ones on the computer. Make this a habit and never have a camera with an empty tank

I carry at least 2 cards with me. I read a while ago about SD card failure and I've had some lower level cards go bad on me over the years. That's why I buy better cards for my dSLR, like the SanDisk Extreme III's we've been talking about, and I use smaller cards then the Max available - like 8gb instead of 16s or 32s.
