Buying the K-R with 18-55mm & 50-200mm DAL

Hi. Im probably going to buy the Pentax K-R with the Double Lens Kit (18-55mm DAL & 50-200mm) on July 20. (it's at $730 here on Brazil)
I actually have a Sony HX-1 bridge camera, and i love shallow Depth of Field images, but i cannot so shallow ones with this one. So i was thinking : With those kit lens i will be able to take good shallow depth of field images?
Like people, etc?
Also you guys could please post some of these?
Thanks!
(sorry if i made any mistake on the grammar )

Hi there mate!

You can see some sample images from the lenses at this site's lens reviews by forum users:

50-200: (I think this is the kit lens, but I don't know for sure)

You'll get good/reasonable BOKEH with them at the long end more with the 50-200 but if you can add lenses later on always go for Pentax's limited primes for not only good colour rendition but really nice bokeh.

Welcome to the forums.

Several people have said that the kit 300mm lens is a higher quality than the 200mm. Something to think about, if you have the option to get it instead.

Hey thanks for the fast reply.
I wasn't able to find the 300mm lens here . Its very difficult to even find Pentax cameras here, i usually just find Canon/Nikon LOL.
So i was looking at those reviews, and they all say that these double kit lens are soft . I hope it's not a problem for me.
I'm going to look for more reviews on this camera/lens before i buy, but i guess this combination is the best for its price

Shallow Depth of Field, it is possible with the kit 18-55mm depending on how shallow you want. My cousin only has the kit lens and was pleased with it. However, it will not be as good as a 2.8 or 1.4 for shallowness but it can still isolate. However, in most cases you will be shooting wide open which is not the sharpest for the lens. However, reasonably good.

If you can't get the dal 55-300, look at fthe tamron 70-300, nice lens, skip the 55-200, the tamron is about 150US

Gabriel, here are some shots I took with my K-r and 50-200. These might be a lot of things, but I don't think soft is one of them. These are all jpegs and on the supposedly soft end of 200mm:

Forgive the large pics, but I really wanted to show you the detail these two cheap kit lenses can muster.

Here's a low light shot taken with my DL and 18-55:

and a shot of an old barn with the DL and 18-55:
