I'm having a hard time duplicating the FF problem. But just in case, I use tungsten setting indoors or many low light situations.

Version 1.11 is now available: Latest K-r Firmware Update : Software Downloads : PENTAX

  • Corrected method for obtain GPS data when developing RAW images that is contain GPS data on Version 1.10
*If the collaboration model is updated with this software, original start-up screen is deleted and it is changed to standard start-up screen.
*If you have already updated to Version1.10, we are very sorry for this inconvenience. Please update to Version 1.11.
In other words, this update fixes a bug in version 1.10 where the GPS data from a RAW image would not be retrieved correctly when developed to a JPEG image in-camera.

they might quietly fix the ff issue, so whoever had the issue before, pls update the new ver and test for the ff issue, who knows we might be lucky!

Why would they fix it quietly when this is a lot of hush hush in market about the FF issue. They should be proudly put it in change log to win customer's confidence

Could be because not all K-rs are affected.

Agreed. I certainly don't want to try it on mine in case it screws up a perfectly good one.

I just bought my K-r this week and loaded the 1.11 from Japan. All seems to working well although I am a newb to DSLR and am still learning the camera.

If you give me instructions on the best test for FF, I will test. Is it just shooting on AF indoors, low tungsten light, wide-open aperture? On stock auto settings? Do I set two objects on a table and focus on the back object? Let me know what you wish and I will test. Be pretty specific with the settings and treat me like I know nothing about this camera...because that is pretty accurate.

But I can say with certainty that you won't brick your K-r with the new firmware.
