Problems with Pentax Kr (similar to K-5 shutter problem)

Just had this issue occur today with my K-r as well... Only had the camera for a little over a month, with about 2600 actuations.Really wish it didn't come to this. Guess I'll be shipping mine off to AZ as well.

Just got my camera back today and it says that they replaced the aperature control unit. I'll be sure to put it to the test this weekend.

Where did you send yours for repair gun smoke? And when? I sent mine to CRIS and am hoping to get it back right before spring break. It said 15-20 business days

Yeah, it's the same place in AZ. They told me the same time frame as you. I FedExed (3day ground) it on 01/31 from Tennessee, they got it on 02/02, they fixed on 02/06, they shipped on 02/07 and I got it back today.

I've got the same problem with my K-r

I bought it in B&H but now I'm in Ukraine. Is there difference between US service centers and those in other countries? Closest for me is in Russia. Can Pentax service centre in Russia make replacement?

I had the same problem with my new K-r. You must clean the contacts on the lens and camera. There is a youtube video on how to clean your lens contacts. Cured my problem.
