Finally had a chance to see what lenses I already have, they are as follows:

Pentax FA SMC 4.5-5.6 100-300mm

Pentax-F SMC 4.7-5.6 80-200mm

Sigma Aspherical 3.5-5.6 28-80mm MACRO

Imado 2x Auto Teleconvertor

I have UV and CPL Filters for all three lenses, as well as hoods, as mentioned previously.

So, now the thing is, could I get away with theses lenses for now, or should I buy new ones as listed? (Am going to edit my first post as list has changed a bit).

You can get away without the DA 50-300, although it really is the better lens compared to both your telephoto lenses but you can always buy it later.

If you're buying then as a kit though that's a different story as the DA 50-300L is much cheaper as a kit with the K-r. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/734899-REG/Pentax_14664_K_r_Digital_SLR_Camera.html

I'd keep the kit lens as the price difference from k-r body only to k-r with kit is very minimal, and it gives you 18mm

Sigma 50mm macro is a different beast from all these other lenses, so if you want a real macro, you should keep it!

The Manfrotto 055 is a little over kill in almost all situations. A 190 is lighter and less expensive, I had the 055 for years thinking I would get a 190 and finally did and sure am glad I did so. The 055 works for my medium and large format and the 190 for the Pentax and medium format.

You can certainly use your existing lenses and replace them with newer or better ones over time. If you were to replace all your lenses with the camera you could switch systems to any other brand at the same time. Buy fewer but better lenses at the beginning and slowly change what if any you need to

Love my 190. SirB is definitely going to reap benefit of SR & high ISO with his older glass. You will need the tripod less!

Cool. Great benefit of Pentax that all lens will work, ...and yours are all auto-focus and auto-aperture to boot. You can "buy" time, and choose wisely later. The only deal changer would be to get the DAL55-300 as a 2 lens kit, but as you note, don't think you will find this in SA.

Manfrotto is expensive here. I have the 190XDB (and 222 grip) and find this more than sufficient. Very solid. Although strictly overloading the grip, I mount my 3.5kg Takumar 500f/4.5 and K200 on it without sweating.

There is a special on the Manfrotto I've listed, so it's coming in cheaper than the 190 atm, but if I take too long to buy and miss the special, will go for the 190 then.

Editing first post yet again....

Now only 3k over-budget, maybe I should do like Obama and make a deal?

LOL. Go the Obama plan. But upgrade to K-5 and DA*300, and let the great-grand-kids pay it off.
