Hey all, so I just bought this awhile back:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Thinking it would be compatible with my camera. It mounts just fine, but when it is mounted the camera acts very strange. Every time I hit ANY button on the camera, it acts as if it is taking a picture, I think it is stopping the shutter down all the way and then releasing it. It does this every single time I hit a button, and is very annoying. It will still take pictures, but when I try to take a video, it will not work. I have already changed the setting inside the camera to be able to use manual lenses.

Any thoughts?

Hi

Ahh , another mystery bug.. I had a similar problem with a KX, I found that with one particular lens the aperture lever on the lens was forcing the camera lever
off it's normal " stop " position. Sometimes but not always it would give the camera Convulsions ! After bending the lens arm it stopped doing it.
Also try a piece of Scotch tape to cover the area that covers the camera electrical contacts on the lens, as it could be electrical as well.

Thanks Bob, the lens arm did seem a bit bent, and I tried to bend it back but no luck, and as far as I can tell this lens doesn't have any electrical contacts, do you mean just put tape over the metal area that is touching those contacts on the camera?

I did find that if I put the lens on, lock it, then release it and unscrew it a 1/4 turn so the aperture lever isn't engaged, it seems to work ok, though I worry it might fall off if I'm not careful
