Beautiful images. Was this at Manchester? It's probably the only airport in the UK where plane spotters & photographers are not treated as terrorists.

I like the Air Transat plane but I'm biased as to it's country of registration , although my favourites are the 757s.

Lovely selection of different airlines, I also didn't realize how many planes had been retrofitted with those winglets.

pentaxuser888 I used 50mm-200mm lens. Was going to use my Sigma 50mm-300mm lens but I thought it would give to much zoom! I am very please with the results though, maybe just needs a bit of editing for some of the photo's!

mtansley Yes this was Manchester Airport, EGCC! A lovely airport to go to and there are so many different spots to view the aircraft from, I think there are 8 places in total! There are a huge number of aircraft that are now fitted with the winglets- 737's, 757's and 767's lovely editions to the aircraft I think!

Thankyou for viewing this post aswell, much appriciated!

It's a pity more airport management isn't as smart as Manchester. If you GIVE the spotters somewhere to go with a good view, they will tend to GO there. It also makes it easier to check on those who are somewhere they shouldn't be. Plus the regular spotters can also keep track of what's going on around the airport.

Winglets - I agree. They do look nice. Hard to believe that something so simple can provide a lot more efficiency to an aircraft.

The A380 is amazing but I think it looks rather like a whale, my favourite is still the 757, it looks so sleek.

Hmmm, may I perhaps guess that the Finnair one is your favourite shot for the same reason that the Air Transat photo is MY favourite shot.

Looks like you got a nice variety of aircraft there, but just one comment on a few of your photos: the horizons aren't straight, and personally, I find that detracts quite a bit.

Well, when they increase efficiency/performance, which in turn also reduces costs, I'm not surprised that the airlines are doing it!

Thanks for all the comments guys! Yes, I mentioned that I was going to edit the photo's, that it one of the things I was going to do (Straighten the horizon)
