Quite strange problem when I'm using manual lens

Hey folks,

I got a issue when I using manual lens (smc-m 135/f3.5) on the K-r. The replay, info or menu button was no response after I shoot a pic, but the Liveview button still works. Then I press liveview, and press those three buttons again, they works. This problem doesn't appear when I was using the kit lens.

Did anyone here meet this problem before?

I don't know. I used the kit lens 28-55mm to shoot and press the replay, it shows me a hourglass icon then the pictures. And then, I use the manual lens, shoot a pic, press the button, nothing was shown.

don't worry, my k-x does often this, and it just need some few sec (especially if you do RAW or RAW+).
After almost 1year and half, it still going good. Chill out and enjoy

Did the camera ask you upon startup which lens is on? My only M-lens is Pentax smc 1,4/50mm and each time I attach it the camera starts up with the focal lenght dialog.

There are several in-camera processing features that can be turned off to speed the camera up. Geometry correction takes the most processing power, but also NR and Highlight/Shadow corrections can be intense. These were all turned on by default and I turned them off. With Pentax DCU software all these tricks can be done later on PC.

Cheers,
D.

yup. it asks to choose. I think that's used for focus tips.

This's is my time to hear about DCU. I'll try later. thx man.

It was my understanding that the input of focal length was used in the shake reduction mechanism....but I could be wrong.

It is. Different focal lengths require different strengths of shake reduction.

I have the same SMX M 135 f3.5 lens on my Kr and all buttons work after a shot, no hourglass icon. I am not using cross processing, digital filters or highlight of shadow correction, those can slow things down and cause a hourglass icon.
