Cable remote

Just about to hand over my credit card for the K-r and noticed it doesnt take a remote cord does any one have a suggestion on how I could solve this especially with night shots and when taking other shots when I want to use a remote.
thanks Os

I use one that works wireless with IR signal. You can get those from Ebay for couple of dollars.

Yeah, the K-r has an IR remote. I have two of them. Cost me $5 each from ebay, and work a treat. (I bought a second because I misplaced my first; ended up it went through the wash, and still works fine even after being tumbled in soapy water, so goes to show there's no reason to pay more).

I assume you're talking time exposures rather than remote? If so, I'm sure I've seen one or two self-build diy solutions on the Forums and elsewhere (internet) using timers and LEDS

I picked up a used Pentax F IR remote on the forum here for $10, and it works fine, but I haven't ended up using it a whole lot yet. I shoot mostly handheld. It's supposed to support bulb mode, but I haven't tested it. That would be something to research a bit if you need it.

IR remote rules...
I guess its even better
I havent tested one yet, but i think the only problem is that you need to point to the IR receiver on the camera...
I dont know if its true D:

Also, the Kr/Kx has a mode to toggle the activation/deactivation so you will not need to continue pushing the IR button the entire time. The first depression starts the exposure and the second ends the exposure.

IR remote can't be used with MLU or bracketing, which is a significant problem for many.
