Pentax SMC 165mm?

I would like to know if this lense will work omy K-r...I tried to find the info on the lenses section but just can not tell...Thanks in advance.

Its a K-mount, so it will work

It is not a K-mount lens, it is a 6X7 lens. There were 2 165mm lenses, a F2.8 and a F4 Leaf Shutter. You can mount it on a K-r with an adapter but it is a heavy lens. The 2.8 weighs almost 2 pounds.

It sounds like this one:

Which won't work on the K-r without an adapter. Usually the prices on these 67 lenses are pretty high. A nice 135mm K mount would be a lot cheaper.

OK, I found one for $150.00 - 165mm f2.8 - Where can I find an adapter? And, thanks some more.

Here is a link, and they tend to be somewhat expensive...

The genuine Pentax adapter is $300. Third party adapters run about $80. Just remember that while on a 6x7 the 165 is the equivalent of a 85mm on 35mm, on APS-C it has the equivalent FOV of a 250mm on 35mm. The M135/3.5 can be had for less than $100, the M150/3.5 can be had for around $100. You can get the A135/2.8 for less than $150 and have full aperture control and matrix metering.

Yeah, if its not a k-mount then you will need a adapter
