Does anyone know where I can buy an AC Adapter for the K-r? The Pentax website says it is model # K-AC109U but they don't sell it on their website and I can't find it anywhere else, not even any cheap knock-offs on Ebay.

Any ideas?

Try contacting Pentax' Parts department rather than looking at the retail items on the web store. I know My manuals have all mentioned the -2 to +3 diopters available but they aren't at retail. I called Pentax Canada Parts and they shipped the same day at a reasonable $30
I imagine the AC adapter may be the same.
You can probably find a Generic multi adapter as well that would work it's a matter of it having the option for the correct voltage and one of the included pins fitting

Just called Pentax customer service and they told me to look online and that it was "unlikely I would find it"

Great service there...

The only place I can find any mention of it is Adorama, and they say it's backordered with no ETA on if they will get anymore. Also it's $79.99! For an AC adapter! That cannot be right

I would just buy extra li-ion batteries.

I bought this one and it seems to actually last longer than the Pentax brand one my camera came with.

I've seen the adapter show up occasionally on Ebay, and a couple times in the marketplace here as part of a kit being sold. If you can find one of those threads, maybe PM the guy selling and see if he'd sell it on its own.

Edit: As others have said, more Li-ion batteries would probably be a better bet, unless you really need to have the camera working unattended for long periods.

Ya, really the only time you need a AC adapter is if you are doing back to back portraits in a studio all day long.

that could easily be right. I remember selling AC adaptors for Video cameras for $250. And these were the ones with local voltage (before multi voltage adapters) the 220 v were $300
