Hi!

i just want to ask a question regarding the shutter life of k-r. I bought one two weeks ago, and since i'm in to shooting time lapse and stop motion, should I be afraid of my shutter dying any time soon? I've read on numerous sites that k-r has shutter life of at least 100,000 actuations is that true? and if it is, does that mean that after 100,000 actuations my warranty does not cover shutter repair?

I don't think the warranty guarantees shutters by number of actuations.. usually it's only defined by time?

As far as the 100k number, that's a conservative number as far as I know. It can break earlier, but I'm sure most break later. Think car engine mileage ratings.

The best idea is to get the 3 year extended Pentax warranty- that should cover all common problems:
80227 Pentax 2 Year Extended Warranty for K5, KX and KR Digital SLR Camera (Total Warranty 3 years - 1 Year Standard + 2 Years Additional)
