I'm over 15000 in less than a year. I have no idea how shutter account affects price, though. Just price it based on the condition it's in and similar K-r's on eBay recently.

I'm almost at 9k. I got mine last November. People will prefer lower shutter count over the higher ones. The logic is, the more shutter count the more it's used, I guess it's pretty much like cars with mileage.

I'm at 11390 myself and have owned since Dec 2010.

Given that a new unit at Prodigital2000 is $560 with the 18-55 kit I would think that $400 would be a reasonable price given the amount of use. But that is a pure guestimation on my part.

DragonLord what do you mean by "has been service"? just curious, cause I want mine to get serviced before the end of my 1 year warranty.

Just shy of 15k since December 2010. And that's after shooting quite a few timelapse movies.

How do you determine shutter count?

What's the magical button combination to figure that out?

I'm sure my count is much less that some of you but am curious anyway.

While I could go with the last JPG number, that doesn't count multiple shutter activiations like HDR.

Download PhotoMe and look at the last photo taken. The shutter count is buried in the the file data (along with a whole host of other bits).
