K-r at Costco? Who knew...

And I thought these were being discontinued. Anyhow, for those interested in getting a K-r and who happen to be a Costco member, you can get them along with a Manfrotto tripod for $599. Looks like a sweet deal especially considering Costco's lenient return policy. This is for the white or black versions with the kit lens (18-55mm). I figure I'd post here versus market watch since more potential buyers would probably look here.

Pentax K-r for $599

I am not sure how long Costco has been offering K-r's but it has been some time now - at least for 6 months time. Same thing with Best Buy. Also shortly before the K-r was announced that it was being discontinued, I think that Walmart started offering them as well.

I believe Wal Mart has exclusivity on the remaining colored bodies.

Yes, in the US but these are Black and White.

I bought my K-r last year through Costco when they offered the two lens package with a bag and memory card. I thought that was a sweet deal at the time, too, and I do love my camera. This sounds like a pretty good deal, especially for someone wanting to get their feet wet with dSLRs, as I did when i bought mine.

They are being sold through costco.com. Not sure if there is a UK version.

Costco is in the UK , I have one about 3 blocks away and buy there regularly but no Pentax on the camera stand just the usual suspects.
