So you're off topic quite a bit actually
The original post has been addressed ad nauseum. There have been suggestions that run the gamut from minor tweaks to replacement to a completely different brand.

The shots are relevant in that it addresses how well the K-r works for many people......it is to show the inverse of the frustration that many people who might be interested in the K-r might not glean from threads such as this.

I think we can all agree that the AF problem is limited to specific lighting, and that few if any have had any issue for daylight shooting or outside.
Obviously the OP was having issues inside, and that is where most have had problems.

I suppose there isn't a lot of point talking about it, we know the problem and there is no fix from Pentax. We can hope the next K-r replacement is free from this issue. I expect it will be, but it's not great if you have a K-r.

I am really liking that 2.8 Tamron! It seems to have the CA well controlled as compared with some of their other zooms. Where did you get it and how much did it set you back?

It's really a pleasure to use .It's not real heavy for a lens of this type, so hand-held shots are pretty easy and it's the least expensive of the 2.8 sports zooms by a wide margin. Buydig had a sale on it a couple months back and I got this one for $649. Tamron also has that 6 year warranty; which is kind of amazing.
