That is true. Especially if you use m42 adapter.. It seems that main source of noise is aperture lever lift in camera, but it is not entirely quiet.. It is still noisy but i don't have a problem with it..

If you program your green button to optical DOF preview and set your lens to lets say f/22, it will get pretty loud. And the shutter is not going off in that situation.

Yes, zvon, I agree. The shutter itself is tolerable. It's the post-shot mirror slap that is the kicker.
