K-AC109 Currently Available

Just a friendly heads-up... For you K-r owners looking for some long-term juice, the enigmatic AC adapter (K-AC109) is now available at many online retailers. It has been in "backordered with no known availability date" for quite some time. It's still $80 everywhere (groan), but it is available. Mine is on its way from Adorama; B&H also lists it as available.

I got tired of waiting and bought the set of 2 Wasabi hi-capacity spares. I also have an AA holder, but I've found that the Wasabi Li batteries last as long or longer in my K-r than Eneloops, especially if I use the flash a lot.

I had considered the spares option, too, but my main intent for AC was unattended long-exposure and/or timelapse. Basically, I didn't want to have to babysit the camera. It's pretty ridiculous that this "accessory" isn't just included with the camera, but if idiots like me are willing to buy it, I guess they have a market.

Yeah, if you're doing a lot of long exposure shots or time lapse indoors or where you have access to AC power it makes sense.

I use to do some of that, but these days almost all of my shooting is outdoors, so it not really an option for me anymore.
