I still use mine..for the time being anyway. It's definitely my go-to in more destructive environments..

Nope

I have it somewhere but I am not sure I could find it if I wanted it. My FA 31mm Limited is my walk around. The only zoom I use at all on my digital or 35mm cameras is my old Vivitar 70-210

MF is a different story altogether but I actually think the 75mm was the kit lens for the 645Nii back when I bought it.

I still use my kit lens when doing 'reportage' type photography and sometimes when I really want wider than 31mm (which is not that often); possibly use it twice or three times a year.

PS Not using K-r but K5, K10D and K100D

I sold my original kit lens (the mark II) and bought a WR version, which I like much more. The optics are the same but even apart from being WR, it's better built. It's very handy for adverse environments. I used it almost exclusively on a weekend away in which it snowed constantly.

Only for landscapes. I usually use the 35mm f/2.4. I will be getting the 15mm f/4.0 Limited sometime soon, which will replace my need for the kit lens. I like my primes. My main kit after that will be the 35mm, 15mm, and the 55-300mm that also came with the K-r.

I use my 18-55mm DA L ll often. I use it differently than just straight on the camera. I have three closeup lenses, plus an extra element from a defunct 28mm lens. These extras give me some extreme macro shots.

And that's how I generally use it, as a platform upon which to hang optics (close-up or wide or whatever) and filters, geegaws and whirligigs, multifaceted crystals, prisms and kaleidoscopes, etc. It makes a good test-bed.

The kit lens with the home machined M4/3 adaptor
It works OK except the "poor man's" aperture setting fixed with heatshrink tube means taking off the lens to adjust aperture by guesswork.

So I can drill into the side of the kit lens and fit a brass aperture adjustor - looks not an easy job.

Or I can buy a $90 Vivitar series 1 f3.5~4.5 19~35mm with a Minolta mount and make another M4/3 adaptor.
-as this lens has a manual aperture ring.
