In this case, I dissagree. The error was not the camera's. As I mentioned above, the EXIF clearly states a manual white balance was selected.
Fair enough, but it is still a common problem with manual lenses with AWB on.

Is the point you are referring to (which I know doesn't explain my photos) a common problem with the more modern K-30 and K-5 as well?

It is more of a fault of the lens itself than the camera, many old lenses have a natural color cast to them. I have a homemade Expodisc clone made from a couple cheap UV filters and a coffee filter to set white balance, this totally solves the problem. I always try to remember to reset the white balance when changing lenses, but sometimes I forget, which is why I shoot RAW.

Even in the worst case though, it shouldn't be as extreme as your first post shows, that was clearly operator error.

It is the white balance, and nothing to do with yellowed glass or anything like that. It happens all the time with manual lenses under artificial light -- I think it is because only spot metering is enabled with manual lenses and it just isn't good at setting WB depending on what you are pointed at.
People still use AWB?

Never anything else -- I shoot RAW, doesn't matter if I mess it up.

If your new to Pentax dslr's you must enable the aperture dial and use the green button to meter manual type k mount M lenses. I am on my phone or I would attach a link, do a search for the procedure. I use manual lenses on my KR often they work great.
