Not sure if it is me or my ability to get a computer to do what it's susposed to do. I copied to my computer then to an SD card, checked it is there, and when I follow the directions it doesn't work.
I put the sd card in camera, turn it on while holding the menu button down, It displasys the current version 1.1 then switches to regular camera mode. What am i doing wrong?? Newbie to update firmware

You need to extract the file that you download from Pentax. Double click on it on your computer and it will ask where you want to extract it to. The file that you need will be in there.
Yes, like onggie said, you have to extract the file FWDC208B.bin. Just double click on the file u downloaded (kr_e113w.exe) and select folder to extract.
You need the FWDC208B.bin file transferred to SD card.
Good luck, and don't forget: battery must be full before doing this update.

Hi! Does this new firmware solve the mirror flop problem? My kr has this problem sporadically with any lens and any buttons pressed.
Thanks.

From my experience, it hasn't fixed the mirror flop problem. I still get it occasionally, but am able to fix it for the time being by unmounting the lens and flipping the control lever a few times thats on the inside left of the mount just to the left of the mirror.

Is there any way to lubricate this lever? It seems that it gets stuck on occasion and by me moving it manually it kicks the lever back into gear.

What do you mean, "cannot use"? Does AF work? Does the shutter work? The camera can even take photos without a lens on it at all, so I don't know how a firmware could mess up the working with one lens

Silly me! After getting worked up, I took a break made some tea, then looked at my lens. The AF on the lens was in manual mode.....newbie error!

Updated FW today. Didn't notice any differences regarding AF.
