Odd rubber flap

This morning I grabbed my K-r because I read about something on the forums and wanted to play with my camera. However, I could not remember what it was that I wanted to try, so instead I just fondled and admired the beauty that this camera is.

When I turned the camera over, I discovered there is a little rubber flap on the corner of the battery compartment door. After 2.5 years I thought I knew every nook and cranny of my camera. My initial thoughts where: "What the heck is this for?" Since I thought the optional AC charger went in the side (with the video out). Turns out, I was wrong and after a little bit of internet searching, I found out it is for the AC adapter. I did not know they give you a dummy battery that you plug into. Pretty cool

OK - I never noticed this before ... Now, I got to go look at it. But the bigger question would be where is the K-r in the house, because it is now my wife's DSLR ... J

FWIW, they use similar technology for the Q and K-01 AC Adapters.

calculator01... yes, this is for the AC adapter. I have the adapter, and the little flap is a perfect fit for the cord. The power setup for these things seems a little silly (your reference to a port in the side would actually make much more sense), but it works.

Open the pdf file and you'll see a photo showing the power cord snaking out from this port.
